Job summary 

This position is responsible for all the policies, practices, and operations for the HSE functions within the company. Advises Site manager and senior management on HSE strategies

Main Duties 

  • Manages and develops the company’s Health, Safety, and Environmental functions, implementing policies, procedures and systems to provide for a safe and secure business operation
  • Maintains up-to-date information and knowledge on new developments in the area of Health, Safety, Environment, and Loss Prevention.
  • Establishes the company’s HSE Management systems (ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO5001)
  • Develops and implement emergency response plans and ensure resources in place to respond to different emergencies such as fire, spills, earth quick, personal injuries, pandemic …etc.
  • In relation to Safety programs, plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, regional and national regulations
  • Ensures process in place to maintain safety files and records.
  • Establishes operational security procedures for activities such as access control, traffic control, guarding and patrolling physical property
  • Lead business continuity plan for EPC.
  • Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees
  • Develop the risk management policy and preventive measures.
  • Leads the investigation of incidents
  • Performing other duties related to the job as assigned by the direct manager

Requirements 

  • Sc. Degree in HSE, Engineering or equivalent
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in related field, in pharmaceutical industry is plus
  • NEBOSH, OSHA, ISO lead auditor.
  • Fluent in Arabic, French and English (written and spoken)

Knowledge 

· HSE Management system ( ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO5001)

· Familiar with IFC environmental performance standards

· Risk Assessment techniques

· National and international HSE legislations.
